The validation record

Ganguli against the same bundle, and why it is no longer the default

Tier 2: measurement on a controlled rig.

What was compared
The air-side heat transfer coefficient of a three-row staggered bundle of annular finned tubes, as predicted by Ganguli et al.'s relation (Kröger, Eq. 5.5.4), over Reynolds numbers of 1176 to 4813.
Against
The fit of Wu et al. (2024, Eq. 40 and Table A1) to their own wind-tunnel measurements on that bundle, with an expanded measurement uncertainty of 5.75% and a fitting deviation of 3.6%.
The agreement
Ganguli's relation over-predicts the coefficient by +20.0% at Re 4813, rising to +41.6% at Re 1176, and every point fails the case's tolerance of 6.8%.
What it shows
The case measures the error of Ganguli's relation at low Reynolds numbers, a third of the range lying below its declared floor of 1800; below that floor the model's default uses the Monju plant relation. It is a comparison of one closure with no tower in it and enters no system's model-form band.
